Why I haven’t read the last book…

I want to start this off by saying I’m a huge fan of series. I love them. It keeps me in the world longer and I get to join in on all the adventures. But, when it’s a series I really love, I typically avoid reading the last book.

Why, you ask? Well, because to me, if I don’t read the last book then the series never truly ends. It’s just hanging out there in the fantasy land part of my brain. I don’t have to come face to face with whatever decisions the characters make, or the heartbreak I’ll feel when that series is done.

I know it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but it’s what works for me. I keep saying I’m going to finish certain series one day, and I’ll keep saying that until I actually do it. But until then, these characters can frolic away in my head space.

Do you have a hard time reading the last book in a series? Let me know in the comments.

  1. I have the worst time finishing series! I never want them to end. lmfao. I have noticed that I have a harder time finishing up a series ever since I became a book blogger than before. But I think that’s just because when I became a book blogger, my love for books went through the roof and I read A LOT MORE books.

    haha. great discussion!!!
