The prequel to the New York Times bestselling Maze Runner series.
Before WICKED was formed, before the Glade was built, before Thomas entered the Maze, sun flares hit the earth and mankind fell to disease.
Mark and Trina were there when it happened, and they survived. But surviving the sun flares was easy compared to what came next. Now a disease of rage and lunacy races across the eastern United States, and there’s something suspicious about its origin. Worse yet, it’s mutating, and all evidence suggests that it will bring humanity to its knees.
Mark and Trina are convinced there’s a way to save those left living from descending into madness. And they’re determined to find it—if they can stay alive. Because in this new, devastated world, every life has a price. And to some, you’re worth more dead than alive.

This book is the prequel to the maze runner series. It is hard book to get through at points because you know the end point of a majority of these characters so it may seem like a pointless story. However, there is a big reveal at the end of the book that points out how important this story really is. I loved meeting the new characters and also seeing how the world got to the point we see in the Maze runner. It was fast pace read but sometime the action scenes took me out of the book. The plot of this book was not my favorite but I really did enjoy the characters!

Hope you will check it out.

  1. I read this so long ago. I remember it was the prequel, but I can’t remember much else or what happened. I do remember I liked it well enough – I loved this series.
