Reading/Blogging goals for the rest of the year

So I meant to post this at the beginning of the year, but life, ya know.   The first quarter of the year is gone, and what better time than to start the next part of the year.  Better late than never, right???

I think my biggest goal is to be more active on social media. I took a break in 2016 because I was getting bogged down by it. But I’m ready to make 2017 a positive year.

I also hope to bring more fun content and discussions to the blog. Possibly start vlogging as well… We’ll see if that happens, the kids don’t like being quiet when they know I’m doing something.

And scheduling.  I hope to keep a ton of posts scheduled so that I’m not scrambling at the last minute to get something up.  All I have to say is Google Drive is my friend right now.

Overall, I intend to be more present in all aspects of blogging.

I also plan to read more off of my actual shelves, and to work my way through all the books I have on Audible. Seriously, between my mom and I, there are a lot.

I want to start a podcast. Of course, this is something I’ve wanted to do for awhile but the whole start up process is intimidating.I’ve thought of a lot of the types of podcasts I could start. Maybe I just want to hear myself talk?I think it would be fun for us to create a biweekly or once a month podcast that centers around what happens on the blog and our Sunday posts. As well as a book club type thing where we discuss a book we all read. Maybe i’m just itching to start a podcast, but I would really like to make one that is centered around literature. I haven’t asked any of the other ladies about this, it’s just been a thought floating around my head. What do you guys think of that?

I want to read more books this year, which is something I am already accomplishing. I hope to keep up with this habit of a quiet reading time everyday. It’s so relaxing and fulfilling. This also means getting in the habit of reviewing more. I tend to put off my reviews because of insecurity. Which sounds stupid, right?

As for social media in general, I need a break from it. I’ve noticed myself losing hours of my time just refreshing a facebook feed. So far, I’ve successfully been off of Twitter for a week. I can’t seem to cut ties with everything, so i’m taking it one step at a time. Honestly my limitation of time spent on my phone has opened up the opportunity to have a time frame for reading and teaching myself new skills.
