We’re celebrating with Victoria Scott!

If you’ve followed the blog for any amount of time, you know I have a serious love for Victoria Scott.  She was just getting published as I was starting my blog, and has always been a friend of the blog. (Wee One also loves her.) She won my heart with Dante Walker, then Fire & Flood, and had Wee One and I reading Titans together. Please welcome her to the blog to celebrate our birthday!

Violet Grenade Dream Cast

One of the most satisfying parts of releasing a new book is seeing who readers envision as my characters. So today, I’m going to share a few actors and actresses I pictured as I wrote Violet Grenade, which releases in bookstores May 2, 2017. Enjoy!

Hayley Williams as Domino Ray

A big staple is the hair—Domino loves colorful wigs. But even more than that is her look, and Hayley Williams looks just right for Domino.

Chris Zylka as Cain

It’s all in the face—the structure, the expression. Especially after Domino gets ahold of him.

Oh yes, he is definitely my Cain.

Meryl Streep as Madam Karina

A strong, confident woman who can be utterly evil, but also appear kind? Meryl Streep nails it.

Omar Borkan as Dizzy

This photo of Omar in particular is very Dizzy. He shows no care. He is who he is, and he won’t apologize for it.

Jasmine Villegas as Mercy

Attitude? Check. Beauty? Check. Ability to make Domino’s life miserable? Yup.

That’s just a few of the characters you’ll meet in Violet Grenade! What do you think of my picks?

How gorgeous is this cover for Violet Grenade???

DOMINO: A runaway with blood on her hands.

CAIN: A silent boy about to explode.

MADAM KARINA: A woman who demands obedience.

WILSON: The one who will destroy them all.

When Madam Karina discovers Domino in an alleyway, she offers her a position inside her home for entertainers in secluded West Texas. Left with few alternatives and an agenda of her own, Domino accepts. It isn’t long before she is fighting her way up the ranks to gain the madam’s approval. But after suffering weeks of bullying and unearthing the madam’s secrets, Domino decides to leave. It’ll be harder than she thinks, though, because the madam doesn’t like to lose inventory. But then, Madam Karina doesn’t know about the person living inside Domino’s mind.

Madam Karina doesn’t know about Wilson.
