From New York Times, USA Today, and WSJ bestselling author Catherine Bybee comes the third novel in the delicious Not Quite series.
Monica Mann has made it her life’s work to save lives. After an earthquake and tsunami hit the shores of Jamaica, she volunteers her trauma skills with Borderless Nurses. Calculating and methodical, she creates order out of whatever chaos she finds.…
Until she finds the perpetually barefoot, impossibly masculine Trent Fairchild. No one can pin him down. No, really. He’s a pilot and manages a small fleet of choppers on his adopted island home. Hopelessly drawn to one another, they manage to slip away from the wreckage of the storms to get a little closer. And they get a lot closer than expected when aftershocks from the earthquake trap them in their own life-or-death scenario. Paradise has brought them together. Now will it tear them apart?
I loved seeing Monica’s story unfold. She’s so jaded against love, and is slightly terrified of relationships. That is until she meets a certain helicopter pilot. I love the work Monica does, and how she puts everything she has into her job. And she deals with stress pretty well, especially with her family and friends surrounding her.
Trent has his own demons he’s running from. He doesn’t do relationships. He’s been burned, and doesn’t want to relive the disappointment. But there’s something about Monica that keeps him wanting to be around her.
I loved seeing these two around each other. They were funny and sweet, and at times extremely worried due to certain circumstances. There are times of miscommunication. Not necessarily between Monica and Trent, but by others.
I loved seeing the whole group in this book. They are up to their usual scheming ways to make love happen for those that they care about.
Not Quite Enough is a quick read, and will have you turning the pages as fast as you can to see the story unfold.
