She’s running from a painful past. Can he catch her and help her heal?
Savannah Grace left her hometown after the traumatic death of her young brother ten years ago. Fresh out of high school, she trudged through life under a shroud of guilt and shame. She couldn’t face her family after what she did, and she knew she didn’t deserve happiness.
Quentin Elliott became a paramedic so he could save people. He hadn’t been able to help his high school girlfriend’s brother, but he vowed to prevent as many tragedies as possible. He managed to build a life without Savannah, but he never moved past her.
When Savannah returns to town in hopes of donating bone marrow to her estranged mother, Quentin knows he will only have a short time to help Savannah realize she should stay in Healing Springs. Where she belongs. With him.
Savannah prefers to lace up her running shoes, but Quentin is determined to create a treatment plan to help her settle in for the long haul.
Can a decade of pain be healed with a healthy dose of love? Or will Healing Springs fail to live up to its legendary name?
Just imagine, how on Earth would someone be able to get over the death of your little brother!? This book tugged at my heartstrings so hard because I’ve got an annoying little brother that I now realize I take for granted.
For this review, it’ll be a little short and sweet so I don’t spoil too many things. I cried during this book. I read it right after Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover, so if you’ve read any of her books you can only imagine what an emotional wreck I was. If you haven’t read anything by her WHAT ARE YOU DOING GO READ NOVEMBER 9 RIGHT NOW (after this review, though). This book was not even close to being a disappointment after that book, so it’s pretty much amazing.
This was a second chance love story, but not in the way you’d imagine. There wasn’t a nasty breakup from someone cheating or being afraid of commitment. This book was very real and very sad BUT it was very touching. It made my insides fuzzy. Also, it’s got a Rottweiler in it, (I’m a dog lady at heart) and he’s an amazing little dude. I was absolutely infatuated with Savannah and Quentin’s romance and it will melt countless hearts.
BTW, I picked this gem up for free (as of right now, 8:34 p.m. March 31, 2016) on Amazon! It’s been free for a while so go pick it up and have your heart melted! Happy reading! <3
