Isabelle (Izzy) Harper was on the fast track to nowhere. After losing her job at the local library, she was happy to wallow in her sorrows at the local bar. To her surprise, two mysterious and incredibly handsome strangers strolled in and out of her small town bar. Curiosity killed the cat and after overhearing their conversation, she was thrust into a world she had only read in her paranormal romances.
Awakening follows Izzy's story as she navigates this new world of demons, vampires, angels, warlocks, faeries and many other supernatural creatures. Recruited by the Promiscus Guardians, Izzy is suddenly knee-deep up crap creek. Discovery the secret behind her power, and why it is such a commodity in her Awakening.

musical pairings

Have you ever read a book and thought “Damn this song would go so great with this story?” Well, we are going to do that for you.  When we find a book that completely grips our musical tastes we are going to share those songs with you.  Hope you enjoy, and find some great songs to add to your playlist.

Okay, I’m not quite sure where to start with this book. It started off quite unlike any other paranormal/fantasy book I’ve ever read. There is such a fascinating blend of supernatural characters in here, and I’m really digging it (about to start book #2). We’ve got faeries, angels, demons, vampires, warlocks, half-breeds, etc. It’s really quite spectacular. Secondly, I really adore Izzy. She is such a bubbly person and she takes the news of her heritage in stride. I also like how Brianna describes her body, which is very normal, not super pretty or curvy-Izzy likes donuts. Izzy is just described as looking like such a normal person and I adore that; she’s very relatable that way.

What I also love is that Izzy goes for what she wants, and she’s not a damsel in distress; she’s a freakin’ boss, dude. I’m currently itching to start the next book as I type, actually. All of the characters are admirable (at least for part of the book) and intriguing. It’s got a villain who is hard to hate (like Voldemort level, almost) and, of course, lots of super cute guys. I absolutely loved it. Happy reading! Check out the playlist and let us know what you think!
