Review

This is the second book I’ve read in The Weekday Brides series, and it did not disappoint.

Gabriella is still trying to get over the events that happened to her on her brother’s vacation island.  She doesn’t trust men, and it doesn’t help when Hunter pretty much blackmails her into marrying him.  She’s very sarcastic, and I love that.  She knows how to handle this marriage going in, but things may run deeper.  Hunter is trying to help his image for his own reasons.  If things go the way he thinks they will, he will be slammed by the media.

The banter between these two is amazing.  They both know how to give as good as they get.  And their attraction to each other is chemistry in the making.  I love seeing them each grow while trying to understand each other.  They have flaws, concerns, and fears.  I also love the way Bybee mixes romance with suspense, and leaves wondering what is going to happen next.  How far will the danger go?

There’s never a slow, or dull, moment in these pages.  You quickly get lost in them, and then are saddened when it’s over.  I will definitely be getting the rest of this series so I can see how the other characters came to be in their relationship.
