Earth is in ruins, and the war of Heaven and Hell has spilled over into the mortal world. In the frozen wasteland of the apocalypse, Azael and his band of cohorts search for Pen and Michael with orders to kill. Little does he know that his sister has incited a rebel army of her own.
Angels and demons alike stand side by side, ready and willing to fight for a future they didn’t realize they could have. Change doesn't come easy, though. Pen is wary of joining New Genesis's revolution, but when Azael shows his hand and Pen learns all that he holds over them, she chooses to fight back, no matter the risk. She only has to survive, one hour at a time.
I have missed Pen, Michael and Azael. I love the tension between these three characters, and couldn’t wait to see what was in store for them.
With it being Hell on earth, literally, the rules have changed. Nobody is certain what is going to happen, or what to expect. We get the perspectives of Pen and Azael. Pen is trying her hardest to keep her and Michael alive, but they keep running into problems, and people trying to hunt them. Azael has been ordered to destroy his sister. He constantly battles himself on if he can actually do it.
I love that this book isn’t focused as much on the romance between Pen and Michael. The main focus is the relationship between Pen and Azael. They have such a strained relationship and don’t know how much they can trust each other. Azael has to come to terms with Pen’s betrayal, and Pen has to know if Azael really hates her.
Incite leaves on a bit of a cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
