Cryptid Tales Blurb

The complete bestselling series with over 35,000 readers!
You think seeing ghosts is weird? Tell me something I don’t know.
My childhood best friend Jeremy happens to be a ghost.
My life is a puzzle, and the biggest piece missing has been my dad. Since his disappearance when I was six it’s been tough, but Jeremy has been by my side through it all.
But now Jeremy has gone missing too and I feel like I’m never going to get all the answers I’ve been looking for.
Fate intervenes when Hugh, a real live college beefcake, starts taking an interest in me. He divulges that he also shares my little “gift” of seeing the dead and I know I’m finally getting closer to finding all the pieces.
However, the more the puzzle is completed, the more questions I have.
Senior year is hard enough as it is, but clearly I like a challenge.
I received this book from the blog tour host in exchange for my honest opinion.
About the Author:

Brina Courtney is a young adult author obsessed with chocolate, crime shows, and fantasy movies. She’s spent the last few years as an elementary teacher and a high school cheering coach. She lives in a small town in Pennsylvania with her husband and two very loud, small dogs.

Brina Courtney does a fabulous job with her story telling.  I fell in love with her storyline, and found myself wanting more.

This omnibus has the following books in it: Reveal, Capture and Settle.  Each one draws you in deeper to the world of cryptids.  Each book is fast paced.  You are always waiting to see what’s going to be jumping from around the corner.  The history of the cryptids was also fascinating.  They have so much culture, and a crazy twist.

The characters are great.  Shay tries to hide the fact that she sees ghosts, and keep a normal life.  She’s intelligent, and loyal to her family.  With all of the craziness that happens around her she manages to keep her cool.  She grows so much throughout the book.  She becomes stronger in her convictions, and never relents when it comes to information she needs to find.  She thinks with her heart instead of her mind most of the time, and that gives her some issues a couple of times.  But like I said, she’s a tough chick.  She has to be.  Hugh is another awesome character.  He is extremely loyal, and does whatever he can to keep Shay safe at all times.  He follows her lead, and never puts her down for her decisions.  Each and every character in this book brings something new to the table.  They have their own abilities that make them an asset, and I’ve come to love each of them.

I was sad to come to the end of these stories.  I wasn’t ready to see these characters leave.  Luckily, there will be a spinoff, and I hope to see Shay and Hugh some more within those pages.  I recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a different take on the “paranormal.”  What would you do to find the answers you were looking for?
