Her blood is toxic to vampires.
If there is one thing eighteen-year-old Aurora Sky wants, it’s to get off the iceberg she calls home. Being kissed before she graduates wouldn’t hurt either.
Then a near-fatal car wreck changes everything. Secret agents step in and save Aurora’s life in exchange for her services as a vampire hunter. In Alaska.
Basically she’s a glorified chew toy. All thanks to her rare blood type, which sends a vampire into temporary paralysis right before she has to finish the job… by hand.
Aurora is alienating friends at school while attracting attention from the last person she wants noticing her – the dark prince of temptation himself: Fane Donado. And that can’t lead to anything good.

This is a Young Adult paranormal urban fantasy romance with mild language, violence, and sexual situations. Recommended for ages 18+.

First, and foremost, this is definitely not a YA book. I’d classify it as New Adult.  It is set in high school though.

I adored the new take on vampires. They do not come about the way we’re all used to.  I’m not going to tell you how that is though.  I’ve never read a book that takes place in Alaska.  I have to admit, it seems like a great place for vampires to migrate.

Aurora was a perfect student, trying to finish her Senior year, and head off to Notre Dame.  Then, she was in an awful car crash.  Due to her rare blood type, the government decided to fix her up, with a few adjustments.  She is now a vampire hunter, even though she doesn’t want to be.  I love Aurora, she’s a hell of a smart ass.  She begins to rebel against her normal behavior.  You know, because that’s what teens do when they are forced to do something they hate.  It turns out she’s a pretty badass hunter, which ends up biting her in the butt.

Now, the boys of Alaska.  Our main guys are Dante and Fane.  Dante is a fellow hunter, and a guy that parents will love.  He’s fun, carefree, and full of life.  Aurora quickly places him the “like a brother” zone.  Fane is dark, old fashioned, and can be a jerk at times.  But we all know which guy I like.  You know me, bad boy girl right here!

Aurora Sky is a fast paced book.  I was never left wanting it to end.  I loved the action, and romantic scenes.  Check it out if you want new vampires and genetically engineered vampire hunters.
