Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke & The Bookish. I mean who doesn’t love a list. 🙂
This weeks Top Ten List is Genres. I picked Dystopian for my top 10. I have , but I’ll also list the 2 I want to read soon along with the 1 I’m currently reading. (And loving!)
My top 8: (in no particular order)
The Giver by Lois Lowry: I read this book for the first time when I was in 8th grade. I still absolutely love this book. At the time I didn’t realize it was a trilogy, so I’ll be reading it in it’s entirety soon.
The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins: I absolutely love this series. I couldn’t pick just one for this list so I chose the trilogy as one spot.
Wither by Lauren DeStefano: I fell in love with Rhine’s character. She’s determined, and a survivalist.
Fever by Lauren DeStefano: The sequel to Wither had my emotions going crazy. I love this world Lauren built, and it was very easy to see it as it was. Dark, difficult, but full of some hope.
Starters by Lissa Price: Callie’s story sucks you in from the beginning. It’s so amazing seeing what this world comes to in this novel. I cannot wait for the sequel, Enders, to come out this winter.
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury: I remember reading this as a sophomore in high school, and freaking out. I mean who could thing about living in a life without books!!!! It’s a classic in my opinion, and one everyone should read.
Bumped by Megan McCafferty: I don’t know that I could fathom a world where teens pimp out their uterus. But wow, this book definitely brought that world to me. I was a little iffy on this book at first, but it grew on me, and I can’t wait to read Thumped.
Books I’m currently/wanting to read
The Host by Stephenie Meyer: I started this book a year or so ago, but put it down. I wasn’t in the right frame of mind to read this. All I kept thinking about is vampires, werewolves, and angels. I want to give this book another try. I think I’ll really enjoy it.
Divergent by Veronica Roth: This book will be read soon. It’s been recommended by many, and on my read list for a very long time. I can’t wait to get this one in my hands.
Matched by Ally Condie: I’m currently reading this novel. I’m less than 100 pages in, but I’m loving it. I don’t see how these characters take everything they are told at face value. I’m also pretty sure I’d never survive in this society. If you tell me NOT to do something, that’s a pretty big guarantee that I WILL.
