Musings: Genres

Posted March 20, 2012 by Katrina @ Bookish Things in Life / 0 Comments

Most readers like to stick to one genre.  I’m guilty of this also.  I know what I like, and I stick to it.  I used to read a lot of murder/mystery novels, but the plots started looking the same and I got bored.

Not long after that my cousin decided to drag me to see Twilight.  So, I decided to read the series.  That was the first YA series I read.  And I was HOOKED.  While not everything I read is YA, most tend to stay in the paranormal/urban fantasy category.  Every once in a while I’ll pick up a contemporary novel just to give myself a breather from vampires, werewolves, fairies and angels.  But I still go back fairly quick.  Like I said, I know what I like.

So, do you read only one genre or do you read from many? What are some of your faves?
